Working with Gary and his team at Gary Frakes Construction made the process of building my house a very enjoyable experience. As a first-time homebuilder, I wasn’t sure what to expect, and Gary provided me with great advice throughout the entire project, from the initial design stage, through construction, and finishing.

When Gary and I met to pick out the lot, he listened to what I had in mind for the overall design and the budget I had to work with. We made some quick sketches that day and he and he turned them into a floor plan that we were all excited about. We made a few changes, but from the minute I saw the plans, I knew this would be my home.

Knowing I had a strict budget to work with, Gary presented options and how each of them would impact the overall cost. As questions came up during the construction phase, I felt like I was always involved with any decisions that had to be made and I always trusted that I was getting the best advice. The various crews that worked on the house did high-quality work that gave me a feeling of confidence in the final result.

Having been in several of the homes Gary has built, I’m amazed at how varied the design features are in each, but they all have a feeling of warmth and a sense of home.

It was our great pleasure to participate in the designing and building of our new home in Iowa City with Gary Frakes Construction. Gary has a natural talent to see things as they ought to be, combined with a great sense of style and attention to details. He has assembled a talented team of architects, contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc., who understand his demand for quality and timeliness. We found him and his entire team to be easy to work with and very sympathetic to our needs and desires.
